Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Kitabghar. By creating a workspace or signing in to one, you agree to them on behalf of yourself and the library you represent.

In effect from

1.What the service is

Kitabghar is software for running a library or study hall: a catalogue, copy-level stock, issue and return, students, seats and shifts, invoices and payments, and reports across one or more branches.

We provide the software. We do not run your library, hold your stock, or take payments from your students on your behalf. Any money recorded in the product is a record of something that happened elsewhere.

2.Your account and your staff

Each workspace has one owner. The owner decides which roles exist, what each role may do, and which branches each staff member may work in. Nobody receives any permission by default.

You are responsible for who you give access to and for what they do with it. Keep sign-in details private, and remove staff who leave. We treat anyone holding a valid session as the person it belongs to.

You must be old enough to enter a contract in your jurisdiction, and you must have the authority to accept these terms for the library you are registering.

3.Your data stays yours

The books, students, seats, invoices and records you enter belong to you. We store and process them to run the service for you, and for nothing else.

You can export your data from the reports screens at any time while your workspace is active. If you close your workspace, export first — see the privacy policy for how long we keep things afterwards.

4.Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break the law, to store data you have no right to hold, or to attempt to reach another workspace's records.

Do not probe, load-test or reverse engineer the service without written permission, and do not resell access to it as your own product.

5.Plans and payment

Paid plans are billed in advance for the period you choose. Which features your workspace can reach depends on the plan it is on.

We may change prices, but not in the middle of a period you have already paid for. If we change them, we will tell you before your next renewal.

If a payment fails, we may limit the workspace to read-only access until it is settled. We will not delete your data for non-payment without telling you first.

6.Availability and limits

We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Maintenance, outages and dependencies outside our control can all interrupt it.

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud.

7.Ending the agreement

You can stop using the service and close your workspace whenever you like.

We may suspend or close a workspace that breaks these terms, or that puts the service or other customers at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.

8.Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the product before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept it.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Rajasthan have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
